For centuries, the mountainous belt surrounding Tbilisi has functioned as the city’s natural refuge. Within this landscape, Tskneti stands out - a place where the dense urban grid dissolves into oak and pine forests. Historically a site of retreat, it offered an alternative rhythm of life, one in which architecture acted as a mediator between people and nature. The design strategy
The house ultimately reinterprets the traditional “Tsknetian wall” - transforming it from a defensive barrier into a suspended, textured volume paired with an open, permeable ground floor. Its architecture seeks to restore immediacy between people and place, inviting the forest, air, and light back into daily life.
